When I knew I was going to Miami for a girls getaway with one of my best friends, I knew that I had to bring home something special. I thought long and hard (literally at least over two weeks) about what I should get.

Should I get a few small things to remember this trip by? Or should I make one big purchase that I'll remember for the rest of my life? I tossed these questions around everyday and started searching through the season's handbags and other accessories. It came down to the Cartier Love Bracelet and Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra bracelet for a major purchase or a few things like a Chanel WOC and Hermes wallet. Both were wonderful prospects.

When my bestie and I reached Bal Harbour, we went to all of our favorite haunts. I was about to buy a beautiful blue caviar chevron Chanel WOC, but I decided against it at the last minute. Deep inside, I think I wanted to rule out getting something that I already have a few of (WOCs are so fun to collect) for something more coveted.

So we lunched, and I thought some more about my potential purchases. Our next stop was going to be Van Cleef & Arpels. I thought about honestly not even going, but I thought I should try on the bracelet just to see if it would work.

When we walked in, it was a beautifully decorated, small store. The sales associate was one of the kindest I've ever met, and he jumped in to showing me the Alhambra collection. He prepared us double espressos with little chocolates on the side and wooed us on the pieces, their history, and their value for years to come. He brought out the yellow gold/mother of pearl, white gold/mother of pearl, and the yellow gold/black onyx bracelet combinations for me to play with as I made my decision. I was first really taken by the white gold bracelet at first, but after much deliberation, it was decided that the best decision was to add the yellow gold/mother of pearl to my collection as it will match better with other VCA bracelets and other pieces I own. While I was deciding, my best friend bought a beautiful earring and necklace set for her mother. It was the perfect shopping trip!

I am absolutely thrilled to have this in my collection. I've always wanted a piece like this. I will have it for the rest of my life and pass it down to my children. How exciting! The piece pairs incredibly well with both casual and formal outfits. I'm so blessed to enjoy these wonderful things, on a wonderful vacation with a wonderful friend. Wishing everyone a lovely rest of the weekend and a happy week ahead!
